I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area watching Turner Classic Movie Channel with my Mom. I constantly found myself oohing and aahing over the glamorous actresses of the 40s and 50s. I loved the class and sophistication of Audrey Hepburn and the sweet and sassy flair of Debbie Reynolds.

As a shy young girl, these glamorous ladies inspired me. I would dig through my limited wardrobe to find something to wear that was even the tiniest bit reminiscent of what these women were costumed in. Even if it was just the simple act of dressing for school in the same color Grace Kelly wore in a film, I felt a glimmer of the confidence these women exuded.

My love of style has continued into adulthood. Being a professional musical theatre actress I realized how much of a difference it made in my confidence when I wore something that made me feel beautiful at auditions. This discovery inspired me to really dig into what my style was. And this journey eventually inspired me to start my vintaged inspired style blog Thoroughly Modern Princess (most blog posts are still available on my blog here).

After blogging for a year and a half I realized that while I love sharing the beautiful clothes that I am buying, teaching others how to discover their own personal style is really where my passion lies. I made the choice in spring 2021 to become a trained (Fashion Stylist Institute) and certified (AICI) personal stylist. Summer 2021 I proudly launched my personal styling business.

Discovering my own personal style is a major part of what has helped me grow into the fierce, confident, and independent woman I am today. Nothing brings me joy quite like giving that gift of self-discovery to someone else.
