July 13, 2020Nothing else compares to life in New York City. The Big Apple life can be vibrant, exciting, gritty, glamorous, and chaotic all at the same time.
Everytime I leave for a trip I always feel a little sad. Like I am leaving a little piece of my heart behind. And everytime I return I feel a rush of excitement the first time I see the skyline.
Since travel for fun really isn’t safe right now I thought it would be fun to share some virtual ways to enjoy my favorite parts of NYC!
Learn
The Tenement Museum, my favorite museum in NYC, is doing both virtual tours of the museum and virtual events. The Tenement Museum tells the story of immigration and migration in America through two tenement buildings on the Lower East Side.
Sight See
The Top of the Rock is my pick for best spot to view the city. You can see some of my favorites NY sites from here: The Chrysler Building, The Plaza Hotel, and Central Park.
Entertainment
BROADWAY!!! Shocked that I am mentioning theatre? Well then it is nice to meet you! There are so many ways to enjoy Broadway from home. It’s definitely not the same as seeing it live, but it is a nice substitute.

Eat!
When I am away from the city I miss the food more than anything!!! Pizza, bagels, cheesecake, black and white cookies, and soooooo much more!!! On a summer day you can find me wandering the West Village with boba tea in hand, tummy full of a scrumptious burger and fries, and a purse proudly filled with $20 worth of Italian cookies from my favorite bakery on Bleecker Street.
But one of my favorite treats when I’m running around the Upper West Side on a rainy night with my bestie is the famous banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery. They have released their recipe for you to make at home! I tried it a few weeks ago and it was sooooo good! It tasted just like I had gotten it at Magnolia’s.
